Riding from Sydney to the Gong to support people with Multiple Sclerosis
Schindler employees in Australia took on a challenge to raise money for the fight against Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in the 38th Annual bike ride “Sydney to the Gong”.
Getting fit and giving back
Schindler employees enjoy taking part in sporting events for charity and regularly volunteer their time for a good cause. Bike rides are a common theme, not surprising given our passion for mobility. The goal is to get fitter in the process and give something back to the community.
Participating at the 38th annual bike ride from Sydney to Wollongong
During November, 15 members of the Schindler Australia team got on their bikes to raise money for people living with multiple sclerosis. The team “Schindler Peddlers”participated in the 38th annual bike ride, cycling a challenging route along the coast from Sydney to Wollongong. The route took in some iconic locations along the way and finished against an Australian backdrop of surf, sun and sand.
Participants raised over AU$ 4500.- for the fight against multiple sclerosis and this will make a difference in the lives of people living with the disease. The added benefit was working together as a team and encouraging each other to rise to the challenge.
Corporate Social Responsibility at Schindler
The team’s effort is a great example of how Schindler continues to make a positive contribution to society through its Corporate Social Responsibility activities, focusing on vocational education, employee volunteering and charitable donations.
