By embracing eco-friendly solutions and integrating low-carbon innovations we are helping our customers maintain their competitive edge by supporting their sustainability agenda and bolstering their real estate valuations, as sustainable practices increasingly influence property values and tenant preferences.
The sustainability roadmap 2030 is our guide to managing the demands and opportunities of an everchanging world. It is designed to align every facet of our business, products and services with our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) ambitions. Charting towards the half-way mark of 2030, we have done this in close alignment with our long-term science-based target of reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040. All the while we will live up to our social values.
We continue to drive electrification our own service fleet and increase our investment in renewable energy production and efficiency measures at our production and owned sites. Across the whole Schindler Group we will procure 100% renewable energy.
We innovate and upgrade our products with digital and physical energy optimization features and components. Our goal is to continue supplying our customers with the most energy-efficient product possible to improve operational performance of their new buildings as well as modernizations.
We will invest in low carbon and efficient logistics, linked with returnable packaging, and gradual elimination of the use of plastics to futureproof our supply chains.
We focus on reducing the major share of our product’s carbon foot-print with piloting and expanding the commercially viable use of low-carbon steel and other substitute materials to minimize the impact of resource inflow.
We focus on circularity by design and during product use, extending the lifetime of components with service, repair, refurbishments and modernizations. At the end of the cycle, we continue to put effort into responsible waste management.
We seek to strengthen strategic relationships by engaging directly with upstream and downstream suppliers and business associations in our value chain that are key lever for our ambitions.
We are building on a longstanding safety culture and are following a new behavioral approach to foster renewed safety awareness and prevention culture.
We are committed to ensuring equal opportunities and equitable treatment, as well as providing a safe and respectful work and business environment that is free of discrimination and harassment for our people.
We focus on raising our own employees’ awareness of our Human Rights Policy and salient human rights issues. We are continuously strengthening our due diligence and grievance mechanism for human rights.
