Ever since Scotia Plaza was originally completed in 1988, it’s been one of Toronto’s most iconic high-rises. At 275 meters tall, with a spectacular 40 meter high atrium, the slim, red-granite postmodern tower stands out from the crowd in the heart of downtown Toronto.
Scotia Plaza was already a forward-thinking building when it was completed in 1988, featuring some of the earliest double-deck elevators in the Americas – these were our elevators, which we installed and have maintained ever since.
Scotia Plaza is Canada’s largest zero-carbon certified building and is LEED Platinum certified. Our technology helps to optimize power usage at Scotia Plaza. Recently, we modernized the building’s vertical transportation system, with 22 Schindler 7000 double-deck elevators coordinated by our Schindler PORT technology. Our modernization of Scotia Plaza won Elevator World’s ‘Project of the Year’ in 2022.
