Schindler veröffentlicht Nachhaltigkeitsbericht 2019

Schindler hat heute den Nachhaltigkeitsbericht 2019 veröffentlicht. Der Bericht bietet einen transparenten und detaillierten Überblick über die Nachhaltigkeitsarbeit von Schindler in sechs Schlüsselbereichen: höhere Sicherheit, mehr Diversität, der Beitrag des Unternehmens zur Gesellschaft, eine Vorreiterrolle in intelligenter urbaner Mobilität, weniger Emissionen in der Fahrzeugflotte und mehr Nachhaltigkeit in der Wertschöpfungskette.

Nachhaltigkeit ist ein zentrales Element in Schindlers Strategie, denn mehr als 1,5 Milliarden Menschen nutzen weltweit täglich Schindler-Aufzüge, -Rolltreppen und -Fahrsteige.

Im Nachhaltigkeitsbericht 2019 werden Erfolge des Schindler-Nachhaltigkeitsansatzes, wie das langjährige Engagement im Ausbildungsbereich, aufgezeigt. So nahmen letztes Jahr 4 000 Auszubildende und Studierende in über 40 Ländern an Schindler-Berufsbildungsprogrammen teil, die jungen Menschen Fähigkeiten und Kenntnisse vermitteln, die hilfreich beim Start ins Berufsleben sind.

Zudem hat sich Schindler für mehr Diversität im Unternehmen eingesetzt. So wurden 2019 weitere Massnahmen eingeführt, um geschlechtsspezifische Verzerrungen im Rekrutierungsprozesse zu verringern. Schindler setzt zudem auf Initiativen für mehr Inklusion und Diversität, die über Geschlechterparität hinaus gehen. Schindler fördert ein integratives Arbeitsumfeld, das Menschen mit unterschiedlichem Hintergrund zusammenbringt und in dem unterschiedliche Perspektiven und ein offener Dialog wertgeschätzt werden.

Der Bericht beschreibt auch einige der Herausforderungen, die es noch zu bewältigen gilt. Schindler hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, die Emissionen der globalen Fahrzeugflotte, die für die Installation und Wartung von Produkten eingesetzt wird, zu verringern. Die Flotte macht den grössten Teil des Schadstoffausstosses bei Schindler aus. Schindler setzt darauf, Servicetechnikern neue oder alternative Transportmöglichkeiten zu bieten, um so Wegzeiten und den damit verbundenen Kraftstoffverbrauch zu reduzieren. Im Jahr 2019 blieben die Emissionen der globalen Flotte trotz eines Umsatzwachstums von 5,6% in lokalen Währungen stabil. Dies entspricht einer Reduzierung der CO2-Intensität der Flotte um 8,8% im Vergleich zu 2017.

«Auch 2019 haben wir bei Schindler in die Zukunft unseres Unternehmens investiert und sind so unseren Nachhaltigkeitszielen ein Stück nähergekommen», sagt Silvio Napoli, Präsident des Verwaltungsrates von Schindler. «Schindler ist ein eng gehaltenes Unternehmen und setzt auf gesundes Wachstum. Nachhaltigkeit ist seit fünf Generationen eines unserer Leitmotive und darauf bauen wir Jahr für Jahr auf - für die Zukunft unserer Aktionäre, unserer Kunden, unserer Mitarbeitenden, der Gesellschaft und unseres Planeten.»

Im Jahr 2019 hat Schindler Nachhaltigkeit noch weiter im gesamten Unternehmen verankert.
