Transport

Modern airports and train stations are designed to deliver exceptional customer experience to passengers. They facilitate passenger movement through the transport hub and offer real-time updates on facility and service availability. Behind the scenes, these hubs face the challenge of optimizing efficiency and reducing costs. Schindler CoLab offers a versatile suite of solutions designed to support these goals within public transport infrastructure:

  • Improve operational efficiency: Seamlessly integrate elevators and escalators into your existing Building Management System, access a comprehensive overview of all assets, and provide passengers real-time updates on transport asset availability. With the Essential Status Indicators and Live Equipment Information packages. Information is available for both elevators and escalators.
  • Level up accessibility: To ensure accessibility for everybody and to plan a journey - for example when traveling with heavy luggage - early notifications to passengers are useful. These can be retrieved from Notification and Alerts and other packages.
  • Transparency on maintenance activities: If you're looking to build or use a centralized dashboard to gather historical data on service interventions and analyze breakdowns, the Maintenance Information package provides valuable data.
  • Remote control over elevator operation mode: If you’re looking to remotely deactivate elevators from your system without dispatching technicians - for energy-saving or security purposes for example - the package Operations Profiles and Modes is the right choice for you.

Our offerings also extend to other digital use cases, such as integrating cleaning or delivery robots with the Robot Building Logistics package and gathering passenger statistics with the People and Goods Data package. Explore the power of innovative Schindler CoLab solutions to improve the public transport experience.

Office

When it comes to large office buildings, enhancing tenant experience and optimizing operational efficiency are paramount. In this segment the whole range of Schindler CoLab packages can add value, especially in conjunction with Schindler PORT.

  • Tenant experience enhancement: Provide tenants a seamless and secure experience by integrating building access systems with Schindler PORT through the Passenger Identity Management and Transit Management packages. With this integration passenger data is managed in only one system and elevator calls placed seamlessly from third-party reader devices. Should you plan to provide tenants with a building app to call the elevator, Mobile Transit Management or Elevator Call packages would enable it.
  • Improve operational efficiency and reliability: By collecting comprehensive data on vertical transport performance with the Essential Status Indicators package, you can facilitate predictive maintenance strategies and reduce disruptions. Ensure immediate and adequate on-site interventions based on the real-time push information provided by the Notifications and Alerts package.
  • Get insights on people traffic: Large streams of people and service robots could cause bottle necks during peak hours. In Class-A buildings this traffic is managed efficiently at any time and long waiting times are minimized through a combination of optimized elevator performance and intelligent building operations measures. The People and Goods Data package provides insights into traffic efficiency and building performance.

Optimize energy consumption: Minimizing carbon footprint and saving energy costs is a must for Class-A office buildings. CoLab’s Environmental Reporting package provides such data.

Schindler CoLab offerings also encompass additional solutions, including Robot Building Logistics.

Residential

Schindler CoLab's elevator solution offers benefits for modern residential buildings, catering to the needs of facility managers and tenants alike. This is particularly relevant for large portfolios of buildings.

  • Integrated portfolio reporting: Facility managers and building owners gain access to a comprehensive set of data that provides clear insight into maintenance activities. Detailed analytics and historical data for service interventions streamline decision-making, enabling proactive maintenance strategies and operational efficiency within the building through the Maintenance Information package. Additionally, the Environmental Reporting package provides data for ESG reporting of asset portfolios.
  • Digital communication channel with tenants: In case of maintenance or repair activities, tenants can be directly informed via a user-friendly building app or centralized displays using data from the Maintenance Information package. This can significantly reduce the number of calls to the facility manager. When a tenant still requests more details, the facility manager can easily retrieve information from reports enabled by the Essential Status Indicators package.
  • Smart home and office applications: Increasingly, homes and offices are upgraded with automation and remote control features ranging from heating, ventilation, lighting, and entertainment to access control and elevators. Through the Elevator Call package, Schindler integrates elevators in the smart home suite. In addition, Schindler PORT offers specialized integration features for tenant and visitor management, using the Transit Management and Mobile Transit Management packages.

Schindler CoLab's commitment to innovation transforms residential buildings into interconnected, efficient spaces. By addressing key challenges faced by both facility managers and tenants, the platform is leading the way to smarter, more responsive, and better-connected living environments.

Hotel

Hotels today strive to elevate guest experience and attract new customer groups with innovative digital services. Schindler CoLab offers a versatile range of solutions designed to enhance the hospitality sector, tailored specifically for hotel environment. These include:

  • Integrate robots: Service robots are increasingly popular in hotels, whether for cleaning, patrolling, or minibar room service. With the CoLab Robot Building Logistics package, robots can travel in elevators without having to press any buttons.
  • Operational efficiency: Improve operational efficiency by implementing the Maintenance Information and Essential Status Indicators packages. Hotels can track service history and analyze elevator performance, ensuring timely maintenance and minimizing downtime.
  • Transit management to guest rooms: Particularly in hotels featuring Schindler PORT, CoLab minimizes waiting time at check-in by seamlessly integrating the hotel guest booking and access systems with the Schindler system, using the Passenger Identity Management and Transit Management packages.

Healthcare

In critical hospital environments, Schindler CoLab plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless integration and the highest elevator availability while offering future-proof capabilities.

  • Integrate service robots: The Robot Building Logistics package allows the integration of service robots for operations executed in-house. These include delivery robots for swift transport of medical supplies, bed-moving robots to assist staff, and other automated systems that enhance hospital efficiency and patient care.
  • Operational efficiency: The integration of elevators into the hospital's Building Management System (BMS) is imperative. It provides a holistic overview of all building assets and gives hospital administrators real-time insights into elevator performance. This enables proactive maintenance and elevator operations aligned with hospital needs. We recommend the Essential Status Indicators and Notifications and Alerts packages.
  • Transit management performance: Hospitals have user groups with special elevator access and ride prioritization needs. For example, access to emergency room floors should be given only for special users and highest priority assigned to doctors. For such needs, Schindler PORT solutions with Schindler CoLab’s Passenger Identity Management and Transit Management packages can be easily integrated with access and hospital management systems.

By addressing the unique needs of hospital operations, the Schindler CoLab platform contributes to a more efficient, responsive, and advanced healthcare environment.

Others

The integration of elevators and escalators into a building's digital ecosystem through Schindler CoLab offers benefits and elevates transparency, communication, and holistic management.

  • Robots for in-house operations: With the CoLab Robot Building Logistics package, service robots can travel in elevators without having to press any buttons.
  • Elevator calls and seamless transit: With the Elevator Call and Transit Management packages, third-party applications trigger a seamless elevator journey.
  • Operational efficiency: Elevators seamlessly integrate into the building's BMS, providing a comprehensive real-time overview. Facility managers gain insights into elevator performance, traffic patterns, and system health, allowing for responsive adjustments and better resource allocation throughout the building. We recommend the Live Equipment Information and the Environmental Reporting packages.
  • Maintenance activities: Facility managers gain a transparent view of elevator maintenance activities with the Maintenance Information package. Detailed insights and analytics empower proactive decision-making, optimizing maintenance schedules and improving operational efficiency across the building.

Schindler CoLab's commitment to integration creates a connected and efficient environment within buildings. By addressing the needs of facility managers and tenants alike, the platform transforms the way elevators operate within the building's digital ecosystem, ensuring transparency, improved communication, and holistic management for enhanced building experiences.
